Medical nonwoven fabrics and medical packaging nonwoven fabrics are two different products for different purposes, and they implement different standards. Medical non-woven fabrics can be used to produce masks (YY/T 0469) or surgical gowns/surgical sheets/cave towels (YY/T 0506), etc., whereas medical packaging materials (GB/T 19633 and YY/T 0698) can be used to package medical devices that need to be sterilised. Thus, it seems that the same nonwoven fabrics are called nonwoven fabrics, but they follow different standards for different uses. It can be simply said that nonwoven fabrics used for packaging materials have stricter requirements than ordinary medical nonwoven fabrics.
Nonwovens for medical packaging implement the GB/T 19633 standard, which is equivalent to the international standard ISO 11607 "Packaging of ultimately sterilised medical devices". In its Chapter 5, "Packaging Materials" in the packaging materials to do the following characteristics: ① microbial barrier. ② Toxicological properties. Physical and chemical properties. Adaptability to the sterilisation process for which the material is intended to be used. Adaptability to the moulding and sealing process. (vi) Storage life limits of packaging materials before and after sterilisation. It can be seen that the three items ④ ⑤ ⑥ are not necessary for ordinary medical nonwovens.
